ISM invites guests to anniversary party

ISM invites guests to anniversary party

The sweets and snacks industry has been meeting up in Cologne for its biggest exhibition worldwide for half a century already. This is to be celebrated in style in 2020. For example the "ISM 1971 - 50 Sweets Years" special event will give insights into the 50-year ISM history and at the ISM Night at the Flora, tribute will be paid to exhibitors, who haven't missed an edition. The excellent booking status shows that many companies don't want to miss the anniversary: More than 90% of last year's space is already booked, numerous international market leaders have confirmed their attendance. However, ISM 2020 not only takes a look back, but above all also presents the trend themes of the future in special zones and events.

"We are looking forward to welcoming many international brands in Cologne in 2020 again. The high demand from the exhibitors shows us that even after 50 years, ISM is still the leading global platform for the sweets and snacks industry. We want to celebrate this together in February in an appropriate fashion," stated Anne Schumacher, Vice President Food and Food Technology at Koelnmesse. Many global market leaders want to make sure they don't miss the party: Baronie, Barry Callebaut, Camille Bloch, Dan Cake, Elvan Group, Brandt, Bremer HACHEZ Chocolade, Canel‘s, Cémoi, Cloetta, Coppenrath Feingebäck, Feodora Chocolade, Fini Golosinas, Genuport, Griesson – de Beukelaer, Guylian, Halloren, Hans Riegelein, ICAM, Ion, Kambly, Katjes Fassin, Kras Food Industries, Krüger, Kuchenmeister, Lambertz, Loacker, Manner, Mederer/Trolli, Millano, Natra, Nestlé Italia, Niederegger, Ricola, Ritter, Roshen, Rübezahl, Sölen Cikolata, Sperlari, The Lorenz Bahlsen Snack-World, Toms Confectionery, United Confectioners, Valor, Vidal Golosinas, Wawel, Wawi and Zentis have already confirmed their participation.

Return to the leading trade fair in the world
Furthermore, the trade visitors can look forward to the new exhibitor, Fazer. The traditional company from Helsinki will present its assortment of chocolate, filled chocolates and further sweet temptations. The Argentinian market leader, Arcor, the leading producer of chocolate, biscuits and sweets in Latin America is also back on board in 2020. The company sells its products in 120 countries worldwide - including public favourites like Bon o bon, Cofler, Mogul and Butter Toffees.

Trend themes presented

New and changed events and special zones provide the perfect setting for trends at ISM 2020. For example, in Hall 5.2 the New Snacks section will be divided up into the two sections Trend Snacks and Natural Snacks. Delicious treats like jerkies, vegan trend products, fruit and vegetable snacks, smoothies and energy snacks fall under the section Trend Snacks. Whereas products without additives, raw products as well as coffee and tea will be featured in the Natural Snacks section. An own pavilion is being dedicated to the theme Bean2Bar chocolate in the Natural Snacks section.

The Trend Court@ISM, which comprises of the Start-up Area, Sweet Trends and the Expert Stage, is also located in Hall 5.2. For founders the Social Media Start-up Challenge has been newly introduced this year: Start-ups can present their business concept in a 60-second video on the communication channels of ISM. The online voting for the best founder concept is taking place on the ISM Facebook page, which will be launched in the late autumn. The start-up with the most interactions (likes, shares, comments) wins a founder consultation by the Central College of the German Confectionery Industry (ZDS).

Entering the profession made easy
The Career Day especially for the sweets industry and trade is taking place for the first time on 5 February 2020 during ISM. The foodcareers@ism addresses young professionals, students and graduates from a wide range of fields as well as vocational students. Job starters and lateral entrants can get to know their potential employers here and gain insights into the industry and its job profiles. Companies and HR specialists meet motivated applicants of the future.

Distinguished products and exhibitors

New products from the sweets and snacks industry will be presented in a special exhibition again in the scope of the "New Product Showcase". Furthermore, an independent competent jury, comprising of experts from the industry and trade as well as scientists, will select the best three product innovations of ISM 2020 as well as the award winners of the ISM Packaging Award powered by ProSweets Cologne. The 2020 award winners will be honoured at the ISM Night at the Flora on the Sunday of the trade fair together with those exhibitors, who have been taking part in ISM for 50 years. The ISM Award for exceptional services to the industry will also be conferred on this evening.

Established trade fair duo
In 2020, ProSweets Cologne - the international supplier fair for the sweets and snacks industry - will once again be staged parallel to ISM. Together with ProSweets Cologne, ISM covers the entire value chain of sweets production and sales at the same time and place – a worldwide unique constellation.

Both trade fairs are exclusively open to trade visitors.
